Box Office Triumph: ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Approaches ₹1,000 Crore Worldwide

Director Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic, “Kalki 2898 AD,” is on the brink of surpassing the ₹1000 crore mark, having already grossed over ₹700 crore worldwide within nine days of its release. According to industry tracker Saclink, it has become the first Indian film of the year to achieve this milestone.

Featuring the widely popular actor Prabhas, the film earned ₹677+ crore in its initial eight days, with ₹494+ crore from India and ₹183 crore from international markets. By its second Friday, the movie had crossed the ₹700 crore mark globally.Released in six languages—Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English—on June 27, “Kalki 2898 AD” has captivated audiences worldwide.Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, the film has earned ₹432.1 crore in its first nine days in theaters. According to Sacnilk, there was a 22.99% drop in collections on its ninth day, bringing in ₹17.25 crore. Film analyst Ramesh Bala confirmed on social media that the film has surpassed ₹800 crore worldwide.The Hindi version of the film earned ₹9.35 crore, while the Telugu version grossed ₹6 crore. The Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions contributed ₹1 crore, ₹70 lakh, and ₹20 lakh respectively. “Kalki 2898 AD” is poised to surpass “Fighter,” starring Hrithik Roshan, as the top Hindi release of 2024. Notably, Deepika Padukone, a star in “Fighter,” also appeared in “Kalki.”Standing as the second-biggest Hindi release of the year, “Kalki 2898 AD” highlights Prabhas’ widespread popularity, overshadowing all regional and Hindi films of the year to become the latest pan-Indian sensation.While it aims to break numerous box office records, its ultimate goal is to surpass the lifetime earnings of “Baahubali: The Conclusion” and “KGF: Chapter 2,” both exceeding ₹1200 crore worldwide.
